2025 Camp Leaping Horn Itinerary

Please Note: Times and topics are approximate and subject to change.  Alternative talks/activities are already planned if anything should change.  Lessons will happen rain or shine as the USET features a large indoor arena.

Please Note: Riders are 100% responsible for their horses while at Camp.  This includes feeding, watering, mucking, grooming, etc.

Saturday

Group Show Prep/Dress Rehearsal

Camp Concludes at 2:00 PM

Up to 5 total rides per horse/rider pair.  Number of lessons are based upon horse and rider fitness and wellness. 

Lunch is included on Wednesday.  Breakfast and Lunch are included Thursday, Friday, and Saturday

2-3 Lectures and/or activities will be offered outside of lessons each day.

Activities and lessons will be photographed by a professional photographer.  Photos may be viewed and/or purchased online after the event.

Cost of Camp: $1250.00.  Riders MUST be 18+.

Stalls: $285 for Wednesday-Saturday at 9:00AM. 

Stalls for Saturday and/or Sunday night can be booked separately by invoice if you are staying for the show.  Horses NOT staying for the show must leave at the conclusion of Camp and may not use the rings or be ridden on USET grounds after the conclusion of Camp on Saturday.

Auditors: $380.00  Includes all Camp meals, swag, and activities with no riding.  Auditors MAY NOT RIDE--no exceptions.  

Camp Photo Package: $300 includes all of your photos from Camp as high resolution digital files.

Sunday FUN SHOW

Cost: $450 for Campers

Ship-in entries are $600*

Fun show is NOT included in Camp pricing.  The fun show entry fee includes:

Entry to all class.

Great prizes.

ALL of your show photos and candid photos as high resolution digital images.

Start time: 9:00 AM (subject to change based on number of participants.)

Beginner Side Saddle. All Seats. Walk, Trot/Jog/Intermediate Gait. Horse & Rider combination within first 2 years of riding aside.

  1. Beginner Equitation. Above Gaits both ways of the ring.

  2. Beginner Equitation. Above Gaits both ways of the ring, stand quietly.

  3. Beginner Pleasure. Above Gaits both ways of the ring, may be asked for extended the gait.

Pleasure-All Seats. Walk, Trot/Jog, Canter/Lope

  1. Above Gaits both ways of the ring, and stand quietly.

  2. Above Gaits both ways of the ring, stand quietly and back.

  3. Above Gaits both ways of the ring. Extended Gait and back quietly.

 

Equitation-All Seats. Walk, Trot/Jog, Canter/Lope

Abbreviated Schooling Hunter 18”

  1. Under Saddle. Walk, Trot and Canter both ways of the ring.

  2. Hunter Hack. Walk, Trot and Canter both ways of the ring and jump two fences High 2’/Low 18”

Fun Classes

  1. “Do Your Best”-Course of poles or crossrails. One minute to demonstrate good form over any obstacles in any chosen order at the walk, trot, or canter. All participants receive a prize, feedback from the judge, and sparkling cider. 14. “Champagne Challenge”-Any Style Habit or Costume. Walk, Trot, Jog, Intermediate Gait. Carry cup of Sparkling Cider. Winner has the most fluid left.

  2. The Queens’ Class-Parade Bling. Walk Only. May be mounted or unmounted.

  3. Costume Class- Fun and Fantasy. Walk Only. Attention may be paid to the rider’s personal appearance but detailed inspection of rider or tack is not required.  Fancy dress or period costume is not permitted. May be mounted or unmounted.

  4. Historical Habit Class- All competitors must provide a short description of their habit with entry of 150 words or less. Walk Only. May be mounted or unmounted.

 

Additional Rules/Information

  1. *Entry fee for Camp Leaping Horn Campers is $400. This fee includes all classes you would like to enter. Ship-in entries are $500 and MUST show all biosecurity paperwork as USET requires. These fees include digital personal usage downloads of ALL of your show photos.  These prices DO NOT include a stall.

  2. ALL riders MUST wear approved helmets while riding. NO EXCEPTIONS—this includes costume classes. If unmounted, another type of hat is acceptable.

  3. If any ensemble is considered unsafe, the rider will not be permitted to enter the ring.

  4. Management reserves the right to cancel, combine, or divide classes as entries warrant.

  5. Show management shall decide all questions not covered by the rules listed here.
